Hoffenheim extended their unbeaten start to an 11th game with a 2-2 draw against Hamburg, who remain rooted to the foot of the Bundesliga.

The hosts made the better start to the game at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, but their failure to take their chances came back to haunt them in the 28th minute when Filip Kostic put the visitors in front.

Hoffenheim had to wait until first-half stoppage time before levelling through Sandro Wagner, and it was not long before they took the lead.

Steven Zuber's shot was not irresistible, but it nevertheless found its way past Christian Mathenia in the Hamburg goal in the 49th minute.

HSV hit back through Nicolai Muller on the hour mark and they tried as hard as their hosts to find a winner, but their efforts were not rewarded as they were left as the only Bundesliga club still waiting for a first win of the season.

Later in the day, Eintracht Frankfurt came from behind to win 2-1 at Werder Bremen.
