Bundesliga round-up: RB Leipzig back to winning ways after beating Borussia Monchengladbach

Bundesliga high-flyers RB Leipzig returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 2-1 victory at Borussia Monchengladbach.
The second-placed visitors - who had lost their last two league games and started the day eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich - opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark when Emil Forsberg rounded off a fine team move with a low finish into the bottom corner.
Monchengladbach passed up the chance to equalise from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time, Thorgan Hazard's effort saved by Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi after Lars Stindl had been brought down by Marvin Compper.
And it proved a costly miss as Leipzig doubled their advantage 10 minutes after the break through Timo Werner.
Jannik Vestergaard's 81st-minute header gave the hosts hope, but they could not find a leveller.
In Sunday's other game, mid-table Schalke scored their fastest Bundesliga goal since 2014 when Alessandro Schopf burst through and opened the scoring in just the second minute at Cologne.
But the Royal Blues could not hold on, and Anthony Modeste's strike two minutes before half-time ensured the game ended 1-1.
