Strugglers act after hammering at Dortmund

Arminia Bielefeld have sacked coach Michael Frontzeck with just one game of the Bundesliga season remaining. Frontzeck has been relieved of his job after relegation-threatened Bielefeld were thrashed 6-0 at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The 45-year-old, who had a spell at Manchester City in the mid-1990s, has been in charge of Bielefeld since January 2008. However, he has paid the price for a run of nine games without a win which has left the club in the relegation play-off position. Confirming Frontzeck's departure, a club statement read: "No decision has been taken concerning a replacement." Bielefeld face Hannover at home in their final match of the season next Saturday and must win to have any chance of escaping from the bottom three.
