Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman has been ruled out for the rest of the year after suffering a leg injury while on international duty with France.
The 20-year-old winger damaged his left knee and ankle during a national team training session on Wednesday ahead of Friday's World Cup Qualifier against Sweden.
Coman, who was immediately ruled out of the Sweden match and next week's friendly with Ivory Coast, has been undergoing tests with Bayern and the German club confirmed on Friday the extent of the problem.
A club statement read: "The injury sustained by Kingsley Coman at the France national team training camp in Clairefontaine has turned out to be serious.
"On Thursday an examination by Bayern's medical unit revealed the Bayern winger has torn a ligament in his knee and sustained a capsular tear in his left ankle. The 20-year-old will be sidelined for the rest of the year."
Bundesliga leaders Bayern have eight games before the winter break, including a crunch showdown with Borussia Dortmund next week, a top-of-the-table clash with Leipzig, and a Champions League encounter with Atletico Madrid.
