Hannover to sign Hashemian

Bayern Munich striker Vahid Hashemian has agreed to join Hannover.

The Iranian international striker has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the AWD Arena after failing to break into the Bayern first team.

Hashemian made the move to the Olympia Stadion last summer but has been repeatedly overlooked for a starting berth in favour of South American duo Jose Guerrero and Claudio Pizarro.

Ambitious Austrian outfit Salzburg were also rumoured to hold an interest in the forward although he has now opted to continue his career in Die Bundesliga.

Hannover have not disclosed any payment details for the transfer of the 29-year-old who was contracted to Bayern until 2007.
