Bayern mull over Aguero move

Bayern Munich are considering a move for Argentinean starlet Sergio Aguero.

Bayern Munich are considering a move for Argentinean starlet Sergio Aguero, before his burgeoning reputation puts him out of their price range.

The 17-year-old Independiente star, likened by many pundits to compatriot Diego Maradona, has already been linked to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Internazionale.

Bayern are the latest club to express an interest, with director of football Uli Hoeness travelling to South America over the weekend to cast his eye over the teenager.

Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes that it is imperative Bayern act quickly to snap him up, before others make an offer they cannot match.

"We must move before the Spanish and Italian clubs join the race, otherwise he will be more expensive," Rummenigge told the newspaper Bild.

"He certainly won't be a bargain but with a young player of such quality you have to be prepared to take a risk."

Bayern are believed to be willing to pay ‚é¼15 million (£10.4 million) for Aguero, who has been tipped to make the same sort of impact in Europe as Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.

Messi is guaranteed a spot in the World Cup squad, and public opinion in Argentina is mounting that Aguero should be included as well.
