Borussia Dortmund say they are prepared to hold talks with Real Madrid over sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, despite the Spanish club's transfer embargo.
But the Bundesliga club insist they are not in a position to have to sell the impressive striker, who was a target for Manchester City during the summer.
Real are currently appealing their two-transfer-window ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport but, as things stand, cannot sign any players until January 2018.
Ahead of Dortmund's clash with Sporting Lisbon in the Champion League this week, chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said: "If Real Madrid come in we will talk, but it won't be easy.
"We want him to stay with us. Unlike the players who left us in recent times, Aubameyang has a long-term contract until 2020.
"There's no pressure. I don't have the impression he wants to move."
Aubameyang, who has scored 60 goals in 86 Bundesliga appearances, said in February that he had promised his dying grandfather that he would one-day play for Real Madrid, but later insisted they were not the only club he would consider as his next move.
