Joel Veltman's cheeky manoeuvre

Was Ajax defender Joel Veltman unsporting or clever when he tried to take advantage of an injury against Sparta Rotterdam?

The Dutch giants kept up the pressure on Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord with a 2-0 victory against Sparta on Sunday.

Chelsea loanee Bertrand Traore, back in the Ajax side after returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty, scored on the stroke of half-time before Kasper Dolberg doubled the hosts' advantage four minutes after the interval.

Ajax's fifth consecutive victory moved them back to within five points of rivals Feyenoord but it was a passage of play early in the second half that had social media buzzing.

Veltman faked to kick the ball out to allow an injured Traore to receive treatment, only to then play on when the Sparta defenders turned their backs.
