Ajax thrashed NEC Nijmegen 5-1 to move level on points with Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord on Saturday.

Wojciech Golla's fourth-minute own goal immediately handed the Amsterdam side the upper hand before David Neres doubled their advantage inside the opening 10 minutes.

Bertrand Traore added a third just after the half-hour mark before Ferdi Kadioglu pulled one back for the 13th-placed hosts.

Chelsea loanee Traore added his second in the 60th minute with Hakim Ziyech's fifth putting the gloss on the scoreline.

Feyenoord could move three points clear of Ajax again on Sunday if they win their match against 12th-placed PEC Zwolle.

ADO Den Haag made it four successive wins after they held on to claim a 4-3 victory over Groningen.

Goals from Danny Bakker, Dion Malone and Mike Havenaar put Den Haag 3-0 up within 23 minutes, with Malone firing the fourth just after the break.

Navarone Foor opened the scoring for Vitesse in the fifth minute before Van Wolfswinkel's first and second goals sandwiched Luciano Slagveer's effort for Heerenveen.

The former Norwich striker added his third and Vitesse's fourth in the 75th minute, with Sam Larsson's goal a minute from time not enough to salvage anything for the visitors.

In Saturday's other game, Heracles beat Go Ahead Eagles 4-1 with two goals for Samuel Armenteros.

Thomas Bruns opened the scoring for Heracles from the penalty spot in the 13th minute before Armenteros scored his first three minutes later.

Kristoffer Peterson put the visitors 3-0 up inside 22 minutes but Dan Crowley pulled one back for Go Ahead moments later.

Armenteros' second, from the penalty spot, wrapped the game up before the half-time whistle as the Eagles remained rooted to the bottom of the standings.
