Midfielder completes Dutch move

Norway international Christian Grindheim has joined Dutch side Heerenveen from Valerenga. The Eredivisie club have paid €3million (around £2.2million) for the midfielder after they failed in a bid to land the player last summer. Grindheim, who is seen as an exciting prospect in Norway and had reportedly attracted interest from Manchester City, feels that the time is right for him to move to a bigger club.

Wanted move

"I wanted to move abroad and when Valerenga were willing to sell, it is best to take advantage of the opportunity," he told VG. "I am leaving a terrific city, where I have enjoyed three great years. "Heerenveen have actually been keeping tabs on me since I played for FK Haugesund (his first professional club), so they know me well."
