Addo signs new deal

Ghana defender Eric Addo has signed a new deal at PSV Eindhoven.

Ghana defender Eric Addo has followed the lead of keeper Heurelho Gomes and signed a new deal at PSV Eindhoven.

The club are on the lookout for a new coach, with Guus Hiddink set to move on in the summer, but this has not stopped them from concentrating on the playing squad.

Gomes signed a long-term deal on Friday and Addo has now put his name to a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old had been tipped to leave a club he joined in 1999, but he has secured a regular place in the side and did enough to earn a new deal.

"He is of added value to the squad and he knows exactly what role he has to play," said Hiddink.

PSV, meanwhile, are being tipped to make a move for Rangers assistant coach Jan Wouters.

Wouters will leave Ibrox in the summer and is on a list of candidates to fill the assistant coach's job at the Philips Stadion.

Henk ten Cate is favourite to replace Hiddink and he could be assisted by Wouters.

"Jan is on our list and he is certainly an option for us," said PSV chairman Rob Westerhof.
