Diamonds move for Ono

Japanese international Shinji Ono could be on his way home after Feyenoord accepted a bid from Urawa Red Diamonds for the midfielder.Ono was tipped to make a big impression on the European scene after a fine first season in Rotterdam.
After arriving in 2001, Ono helped the club secure the Uefa Cup and a move to a big European club was thought to be a formality.
However, a string of niggling injuries have hindered the 26-year-old in recent seasons. He has been seen only fleetingly in a Feyenoord shirt this term and could be on the move in January.
Ono, who has said he wants to move home in order to prepare for the World Cup finals, will now discuss terms with his former club in the near future.
Reports in the Dutch media are linking Bolton with a last-ditch bid, although Urawa remain favourites for his signature.
Nicky Hofs was brought in to rival Ono for a midfield slot at Feyenoord, but he has failed to figure this term after tearing the cruciate ligament in his right knee during pre-season.
He has returned to light training and is happy to be back at the club.
"I'm starting slowly," he told the club's website. "But I'm just happy to be back here again. It's a step in the right direction."
