The draw for the Capital One Cup third round threw up one of the most historic fixtures in football: Aston Villa v Birmingham City.

The 122nd 'Second City' derby - live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 7pm on Tuesday - will be an intense affair.

"This means an awful lot. It's not just a normal game," said Villa boss Tim Sherwood.

Just three and a half miles separate the two clubs. In footballing terms, its 10 places on the league ladder - and Championship side Birmingham enter the contest on form.

Blues have lost just one in seven in the league this season. Aston Villa have lost four of their opening six in the Premier League - including Saturday's 1-0 defeat to rivals West Brom.
