Unai Emery frustrated by referee decisions as PSG lose at Real Madrid

Unai Emery said Paris Saint-Germain "deserved better" against Real Madrid and vented his frustration at the referee for two penalty decisions in their 3-1 Champions League last-16 defeat on Wednesday.
Real had appeared to be on the ropes in the first leg of the tie after Adrien Rabiot put the visitors ahead, but Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty levelled things just before the break.
PSG had penalty appeals of their own turned away early in the second half when Sergio Ramos appeared to block a shot with his arm.
And their frustrations were compounded by two late goals from the hosts which swung the tie in their favour.
"The team played well," said Emery. "They showed character. We deserved a better result but the referee did not help us.
"Their penalty was not very clear and there was a clear penalty for us for a handball by Ramos. The referee took decisions that damaged us."
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane felt his side were worthy winners.
"We can be happy with the way we played. We kept going to the end. It is a good result and the team deserve to be congratulated," said the Frenchman after two goals from Ronaldo and a Marcelo strike secured victory.
"It was a good evening, we completely deserved our victory. Everything was good and everyone played an important role.
"We have to be happy with what we did against a very good side who can make things difficult for you. We are very proud of the whole team."
PSG will hope to turn the tie around when they host Real at the Parc des Princes in the return leg on March 6.
