Gary Neville has labelled Valencia's Europa League meeting with Athletic Bilbao a must-win game after their derby defeat to Levante at the weekend.

The Mestalla side trail 1-0 after the first leg against their fellow La Liga team ahead of their return fixture on Thursday night.

Of course, that means Valencia need to come out on top to have a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals.

Neville believes victory is imperative with respect to the bigger picture, however, after a run of five wins in six games was replaced with three defeats in a row.

The interim coach said: "Sunday was a very difficult game for us against Levante, but we have to move past that.

"We have had some very difficult moments but Sunday dropped to a level that was unexplainable, unacceptable.

"We have to make sure we take our chances tomorrow night and not shy away from it at home. We must win, we must win.

"I don't feel destabilised by the fact we are playing with this kind of pressure but there becomes a moment where we just have to deliver.

"If we don't deliver we know the circumstances, we know the outcome, we know what is going to be said. We need to go out there and perform, and win the match.

"I always go into every game thinking we are going to win, especially at the Mestalla. That should always be the expectation."

After a difficult start to his time with Valencia which saw him wait 10 games for his first league win, Neville now has nine victories from 26 games in all competitions to his credit.

Although his record could be better and his side sits just six points above the relegation zone, the Englishman still has faith in what he can do.

Neville added: "I've got full belief in myself, I've said that from day one. I know you've heard the same thing from me.

"We have two months left in this season and I'm going to fight as much as I possibly can to make sure we win every single game that we can. My commitment won't change."
