Fenerbahce were knocked out of the Europa League on Wednesday after a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Krasnodar.

The Turkish side had finished above Manchester United in Group A but were eliminated after a 1-1 draw in Istanbul.

The Russian side took a slender 1-0 lead with them to face Dick Advocaat's men and Fyodor Smolov's seventh-minute strike put the visitors in pole position for a place in Friday's draw.

Josef Souza pulled one back for Fenerbahce before the break but they were unable to add to his header in the second half.
