Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish will not make his England debut in October's European Qualifiers as the FA are yet to submit his international registration to FIFA.

Villa confirmed on Monday that Grealish had opted to play for England rather than the Republic of Ireland but Roy Hodgson will have to wait before he is able to pick the talented midfielder.

The Football Association has confirmed to Sky Sports News HQ they are yet to submit the required paperwork to FIFA that will see the 20-year-old's international registration transferred.

The FA says it intends to do so in "due course" but registration can take several weeks to conclude.

FIFA has also confirmed it "does not appear" to have been contacted yet by the FA in relation to Grealish, who played for Republic of Ireland at U17, U18 and U21 levels, qualifying through more than one grandparent across both his maternal and paternal sides.

But, with Hodgson expected to blood a number of youngsters over the coming months thanks to his side's early qualification to Euro 2016, Solihull-born midfielder Grealish said: "I have decided to give my allegiance to England.

"It was not an easy decision, as Ireland has a special place with me through my family. However, I have decided to represent my country of birth."

England face Estonia at Wembley on October 9 before a trip to Lithuania on October 12 - and in November when Grealish will hope to be included they have arranged high profile friendlies against Spain (A) and France (H).
