England player ratings: Terry Butcher gives his verdict

England made it 10 wins out of 10 games in the European Qualifiers with a 3-0 win in Lithuania, but who impressed former captain Terry Butcher?

Jack Butland: 6/10

I think he either got frostbite or frosty gloves with a free-kick towards the end, but he didn't have a lot to do in the game, like most England goalkeepers don't have a lot to do. But he did OK, made one good save in the first half, and it's excellent to have decent back-up for the tournament.

Kyle Walker: 7

He attacked well, set up a goal for Oxlade-Chamberlain with a good interception. He looked bright, sharp, and wanted to do well. Terrific attitude from the Tottenham man.

Kieran Gibbs: 7

It's good to have England full-backs with pace, who can recover quickly, too. He was probably quieter than Kyle Walker, he did well attacking wise and looked comfortable in that position.

Phil Jones: 7

It was good to see him come through a match unscathed, and good to see him playing for England again. He didn't have a lot of threat alongside Jagielka but the pair did well. He stepped forward into midfield very well, particularly in the first half.

Phil Jagielka: 7

He cruised through the game with Jones, the test for these two will come later. He's earned the captaincy at 33 years of age, he's been a terrific player and still is. Age might count against him when it comes to the Euros, but he's always in there and always puts his head on the block.

Jonjo Shelvey: 7

He wanted the ball, didn't give it away too much and looked strong. He seemed willing to get forward, and it's another good option for Roy. Didn't do himself any harm.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: 7.5

Sometimes he gives the ball away easily, a bit like Barkley when the pair try to do too much. But he got on the ball, showed his pace and scored a great goal with a great finish. He looked a threat whether he was wide right or coming in.

Ross Barkley: 7.5

It was a good strike aided by a good deflection for the goal, but otherwise he is imperious. I think he played within himself tonight with the artificial surface, but he's absolute pure class. Towards the end of this qualification, it's like a light bulb has gone off in his head, and he's got to start for England.

Adam Lallana: 8

The best player on the pitch. Terrific performance, and adapted to the pitch really quickly and really well. Good vision, and his touch was impeccable.

Adam Lallana

Jamie Vardy: 6.5

He was quiet on the left-hand side. I like to see him through the middle, but he didn't get the chance. But he's desperate to do well, and has a great attitude. He was just unlucky in many instances not to get the right opportunities,

Harry Kane: 7.5

He had a lot of chances, but he created those chances. The way he held the ball up was brilliant on that surface. He was against two strong Lithuanian defenders all the time but dealt with them, and was unlucky not to get that second goal. He gives England really good and different options.

Substitutes:

Dele Alli: 6

He didn't get many touches on the ball, and didn't really get into the game as such, but it's a fantastic experience having him on the pitch and he'll learn a lot from being in the squad as well.

Danny Ings: 6

He got a good snap shot on the edge of the box on target. He's young and desperate to do well too. He'll get more England caps.

Andros Townsend: 5.5

He didn't have a lot of time to get going, and the game was over by then. England players were just looking to see the game out, but he's another good option who seems to play better in an England shirt.
