Roy Hodgson will face the media on Tuesday afternoon in the wake of England's humiliating exit from Euro 2016 at the hands of Iceland.
Hodgson resigned from his job as England coach following Monday night's 2-1 defeat.
It is understood that the FA expects to appoint a new coach within six weeks, with Gareth Southgate expected to play a leading role in deciding who that man should be - despite being the bookies' favourite for the job himself.
The Football Association's chief executive Martin Glenn will also face questions from the media at the team's training base at Chantilly at 4pm - watch it live on Sky Sports News HQ.
Sky sources understand Hodgson met with Glenn immediately after the game and told him he had decided to resign and not seek another contract with the FA.
He then confirmed his decision in his post-match press conference, but refused to take questions.
In his afternoon press conference, Glenn is unlikely to offer any excuses for England's demise. He is expected to highlight the preparations prior to the tournament, the help provided by the Premier League clubs in releasing players for duty, and what could have been done differently.
Another FA source told Sky Sports News HQ that the CEO was "definitely not expecting an easy ride".
Hodgson was appointed by a four-man team led by David Bernstein, Alex Horne, Trevor Brooking and Adrian Bevington.
Glenn and director of elite development Dan Ashworth, assisted by Dave Reddin, the FA's head of performance services, will be the key figures in the coming weeks, along with Southgate.
Southgate is highly thought of at the FA and his work with England youth talent, culminating in winning the Toulon Tournament in May, means his opinion will be sought in the search for a new national coach.
Discussions to find the next England manager are under way now, with Glenn and Ashworth currently with the squad.
The squad for England's World Cup qualifying Group F opener away to Slovakia on September 4 will be chosen by the new manager at least a fortnight before, so an announcement is expected by mid-August at the latest.
