Steve Bruce says he still hopes to receive an approach to be the next England manager but has not heard anything from the Football Association.
The 55-year-old said on Tuesday he has not heard from the FA and revealed that is still the case ahead of Hull's pre-season friendly against Grimsby on Friday night.
Bruce has been linked with the job after Roy Hodgson resigned in the wake of England's Euro 2016 exit at the hands of Iceland.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has already had an initial interview for the post but Bruce says no approach has been forthcoming for him so far, although he remains keen on speaking to the FA.
"It has not changed so you'd better ask other people about that. Nothing has changed and let's hope there is - I have to tell you that," he said.
"But at the moment if there is a call then it hasn't happened yet.
"I think we are all guessing and when you are guessing and talking about speculation, of course with you guys [the media], social media, and all the things that go with it, you can't control it.
"So if something happens I will be delighted to tell you and I'm sure the club will be delighted to tell you but at the moment nothing has happened."
