England had all 23 squad members available for training on Friday, just over 24 hours before they face Scotland at Hampden Park.

Gareth Southgate's squad had their final sessions at St George's Park ahead of the quick flight to Glasgow on Friday afternoon.

The Auld Enemy square off on Saturday afternoon, with England looking for their fifth win in six World Cup European Qualifiers and a double over the Scots after their 3-0 win at Wembley last November.

England top Group F by four points, having taken 13 from their five games, with Scotland six points adrift in fourth place.

Southgate's main decision could come over the captaincy, with skipper Wayne Rooney one of the main absentees from his squad along with another striker in Jamie Vardy.

Harry Kane recently put his hand up to become England captain in the near future, and he could be a candidate after speaking at length with Southgate at the start of the session.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart are among the other experienced options in Southgate's squad who could take the armband.

Southgate could confirm his captain at a press conference in Glasgow on Friday evening, although it might not be confirmed until he names his team an hour before kick-off.

His other selection issues include a choice between Spurs right-backs Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker and whether Marcus Rashford will start after being confirmed in the senior squad rather than the U21 squad for the European Championship.
