Sky Sources understand Gareth Southgate plans to name Dele Alli in his England squad for next month's World Cup Qualifiers, even if he's unable to play in one or both matches.

Alli is waiting to hear the result of a FIFA disciplinary hearing that started on Wednesday and should conclude on Thursday.

The Spurs forward made a one-fingered gesture in England's 2-1 win over Slovakia earlier this month, but is adamant it was directed at teammate Kyle Walker, not an opponent or the referee.

FIFA procedures usually mean the result of any disciplinary action is published a few days after the hearing, but the FA is understood to have made special representations to FIFA, requesting it publishes the verdict on Alli sooner.

Southgate will name his squad on Thursday lunchtime for the qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania.
