Joe Gomez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham receive first England senior call-ups

Young returns to squad after four-year absence; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Defoe and Smalling among players dropped

Joe Gomez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham have been named in Gareth Southgate's England senior squad for the first time.

The respective Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Swansea players - the latter two of which are on loan from Chelsea - are part of the group to face Brazil and Germany in friendlies at Wembley later in November.

The trio are part of eight changes to the squad that sealed qualification to next year's World Cup in Russia, in September.

Returning to the international fold are Tottenham's Danny Rose and Manchester City's Fabian Delph, who had both been injured, as well as Manchester United duo Ashley Young and Phil Jones, and Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.

Notable absentees this time around that were part of the last squad are Liverpool duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge, and Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling.

Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell, Everton's Michael Keane, West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore and Bournemouth's Jermain Defoe also miss out.

England face world champions Germany first on Friday, November 10, before the 2014 hosts Brazil visit on November 14.
