Wales have climbed to ninth place in the latest FIFA world rankings, their highest ever position.

Chris Coleman's men, who are unbeaten in the European Qualifiers, are ranked above the likes of Spain, the Netherlands and Chile and just one place below England.

Argentina retained the No 1 ranking, with Belgium replacing Germany in second.

Scotland are ranked 32nd, Northern Ireland 40th and the Republic of Ireland 50th.

Germany are down one as their World Cup triumph drops in value as it was over a year ago.

The Netherlands fell seven places to 12, also due to their third-place finish in Brazil counting for less in FIFA's calculations over a four-year cycle.
