Robbie Keane scored his 67th goal for the Republic of Ireland in their 4-0 win against Gibraltar and Niall Quinn believes that he is the greatest attacker

Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane took his tally of international goals to 67 in his side's 4-0 win over Gibraltar.

The LA Galaxy striker fired a double inside two second-half minutes, including a penalty, to help his side move above Scotland into third in the Group D table.

The 35-year-old moved just one goal behind former Germany striker Gerd Muller in the all-time international goalscoring charts in the process, leading to former Republic of Ireland striker Niall Quinn claiming he's an inspiration.

"He's become an institution in Ireland," Quinn told Sky Sports.

"He's become an institution in international football and he's somebody I'm very proud to have been there with at the very start.

"I'm just really really pleased for him. He's an inspirational guy."
