Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho has pulled out of Brazil's squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Venezuela.

The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes of Sunday's 1-1 Merseyside derby draw at Goodison Park.

However, the Brazilian Football Confederation announced on Monday he has been to force to withdraw from their squad with an unspecified injury.

His place in the squad has been taken by Kaka, who currently plays for Orlando City in Major Leaguer Soccer in the US.

It remains unclear exactly what Coutinho's problem is, but Liverpool fans will be concerned for their highly-rated playmaker with a tricky trip Tottenham coming up on October 17.
