Chelsea Ladies are through to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League after winning 3-0 at Glasgow City on Wednesday night to complete a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate victory.

However, Liverpool are out after they followed a 1-0 loss in Brescia with another 1-0 defeat to the Italian side at home in the second leg.

After a quiet start at Chelsea, the hosts took the lead in the 22nd minute thanks to a stunning goal from England international Eniola Aluko, who received from Ji So-Yun and ran across the edge of the box before firing a shot into the top corner.

And the FA WSL 1 champions added to their advantage 12 minutes into the second half when Fran Kirby cut inside from the left flank and then drilled the ball into the net from long range.

Gilly Flaherty completed the scoring four minutes later, powering a close range header into the net as Ji again provided the assist, this time with a lovely cross.

The hosts went on to squander further opportunities to add to their tally while Glasgow's Abbi Grant missed a great chance to grab a consolation goal late on.

Elsewhere, Barbara Bonansea's goal for Brescia ensured Matt Beard's Liverpool reign ended in defeat.

Beard was in charge for the final time before leaving to join Boston Breakers but, already trailing to Sara Gama's first leg goal, the Reds conceded again in the 26th minute.

Daniela Sabatino played a neat through-ball to Bonansea, whose low shot flew in at the near post.

The visitors lost goalkeeper Chiara Marchitelli to injury on 33 minutes but the Italians' well-organised defence kept substitute Camelia Ceasar well protected.

But the Reds did have a big penalty shout turned down on 39 minutes when Roberta D'Adda appeared to block Katie Zelem's goal-bound effort with her arm.

And Asisat Oshoala thought she had given the hosts a lifeline when she headed the ball into the net with a quarter of an hour remaining, only to be denied by the offside flag, as Brescia progressed to the last 16.
