Former Stoke and Leeds midfielder Michael Tonge has signed for Teddy Sheringham's Stevenage.
The 32-year-old, who has made nearly 400 appearances during his career, has been out of the game since leaving the Whites at the end of last season and revealed he had been training at Bolton to keep his fitness up.
"I am delighted," he told Stevenage's official website.
"The manager spoke to me and said he wanted me to come in and sign and I jumped at the chance to play some football.
"We have got a pretty young squad but some good older heads as well. Hopefully I can help the younger boys and just help the team and do as well as we can."
