Leaders Burton Albion moved four points clear at the top of the League One table thanks to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Bradford City.
With second place Walsall losing at home, Albion took full advantage to reach 60 points for the season.
Mason Bennett opened the scoring with a low strike on 17 minutes, and that was the way it remained until Tom Naylor added a second with a superb volley from Damien McCrory's cross on 73 minutes.
Four minutes later it was 3-0 with Mark Duffy converting a Lucas Akins cross from close range. Rory McArdle headed an injury time consolation for the Bantams.
At the Bescot Stadium, Lee Gregory netted twice for promotion hopefuls Millwall, who scored a trio of second half goals in their 3-0 victory over Walsall.
Millwall opened the scoring just after the hour mark when Jed Wallace's cross was turned in at the far post by Gregory.
Nine minutes later Mahlon Romeo made it 2-0 on his Lions debut, before Gregory grabbed his second 13 minutes from time with a low strike from 12 yards.
Two goals in the space of three minutes set Wigan on their way to a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Following a goalless first half, William Grigg powered home from the penalty spot after Chris Basham had fouled Yanic Wildschut in the box.
And with 55 minutes on the clock, Wigan broke quickly to make it 2-0 as Wildschut combined with Max Power to set up Conor McAleny, who curled home from just outside the box.
Wigan should have added a third 16 minutes from time when Grigg missed from the penalty spot after Paul Coutts had fouled Chris McCann.
However, the win moves the Latics to within one point of second placed Walsall, although the Saddlers do have a game in hand.
In the Essex derby at Roots Hall, Southend scored three times during the final eight minutes to beat 10-man Colchester 3-0.
Bottom of the table Colchester lost Alex Gilbey nine minutes before the break when he was shown a red card for a reckless challenge.
Yet the visitors remained on level terms until Anthony Wordsworth fired the Shrimpers ahead from outside the box.
And six minutes later it was all over as Adam Barrett headed the second following a corner, with Sam McQueen adding a third in injury time.
There was a welcome three points for Crewe, who grabbed two first-half goals in a 2-0 triumph over Rochdale.
Marcus Haber broke the deadlock with a close-range header when he met George Cooper's cross on 31 minutes, with the hosts adding a second on the stroke of half-time through Bradden Inman. Despite the much-needed win, Alex remain deep in relegation trouble.
Tom Nichols scored the only goal for play-off chasing Peterborough, who ended the match with just nine men and a 1-0 win over lowly Chesterfield.
Three minutes after the debutant's 55th minute goal, Michael Smith collected a second yellow card while Ricardo Santos was also dismissed on 78 minutes.
Gillingham failed to capitalise on Walsall's demise by sharing a goalless draw with Swindon at the Priestfield Stadium.
And with Wigan winning in south Yorkshire, the Kent side are now fourth in the table but just one point behind the Saddlers.
The games involving Oldham and Blackpool and Scunthorpe against Doncaster were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
The following fixtures take place on Sunday: Port Vale v Coventry, Barnsley v Bury and Fleetwood v Shrewsbury.
