Iceland's footballers got their fans involved in celebrations after becoming the smallest nation to ever qualify for the World Cup.

It was a remarkable achievement for a country which has a population of approximately 350,000. The previous smallest country to have reached the finals was Trinidad & Tobago in 2006, with 1.3 million people.

The Group I winners confirmed their place by beating Kosovo 2-0.

Gylfi Sigurdsson settled their nerves with a superbly-taken goal five minutes before half-time as Iceland proved that their run to the 2016 European Championship quarter-finals, which included wins over Austria and England, was no fluke.
