Virgil van Dijk insists his form for Liverpool will improve as he prepares for a vital period in his new club's season.
The defender signed for £75m from Southampton in January and has helped Jurgen Klopp's side keep four clean sheets in ten appearances to help them maintain their push for a top-four spot in the Premier League while also reaching the last eight of the Champions League.
Asked whether the settling-in period had been easier than anticipated, he said: "I don't know. Obviously you come here with expectations. I'm getting better and better and the understanding with all the players is getting much better."
Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has hinted the defender could be a future captain for his country, but Van Dijk focused only on the upcoming friendlies against England and Portugal.
"I'm just playing my game and trying to help my team," he added.
Liverpool travel to struggling Crystal Palace after the international break before hosting Manchester City in the first-leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
"Everybody knows that anyone we get is going to be very hard. Manchester City is a very good team.
"They are very hard to play against and we need to be 100 percent or even better to beat them over two games."
In between the Champions League matches, Liverpool will travel to Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby against Everton.
