'Prince' Naseem Hamed is interviewed by Gary Newbon on this week's Sporting Heroes. Ahead of this weekend's Sky Box Office fight between Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler, Newbon sits down with one of Britain's biggest boxing stars. The former featherweight world champion will chat about: EARLY DOMINATION: Hamed made his professional debut in 1992 and soon came to dominate the bantam and then the featherweight divisions, winning WBO, WBC and IBF titles, with his distinctive style and explosive punching. FINAL FALL: After 35 consecutive victories, Hamed entered the ring against Marc Antonio Barrera in Las Vegas as heavy favourite. But the Mexican fighter more than matched his opponent before taking the bout and Hamed's Lineal featherweight title on a unanimous decision. Hamed fought only once more - defeating Manuel Calvo. PUNCHING HIS WEIGHT: Hamed's flamboyant style and self-confident character made almost as many headlines as his fearsome punching, but few questioned his ability in the ring. Does Hamed feel, as many pundits do, that he failed to fulfill his undoubted potential? And how is he enjoying life outside the ring? Make sure you don't miss it.
