Consett keeper Peter Jeffries makes mind-blowing save

Consett goalkeeper Peter Jeffries did his best Gordon Banks impression in a Durham Challenge Cup semi-final against South Shields on Tuesday.
Scaffolder Jeffries, who previously played for Hartlepool United, performed a combination of gymnastics, juggling and sleight of hand to somehow keep out an effort from Gavin Cogdon.
You would have forgiven Cogdon for starting to celebrate when he prodded a right-wing cross goalwards, with Jeffries looking like his rush across the box would see him run straight past the ball.
But a spin, a tumble and an incredible piece of hand-to-eye coordination saw Jeffries, who also played for non-league sides Spennymoor and Blyth Spartans, claw the ball away from the line and hurl it to safety, keeping Consett's deficit at 1-0.
Sadly for the Steelmen, Jeffries' save was not enough to secure a place in the final with South Shields running out 3-1 winners thanks to two Andrew Stephenson goals and a third from Carl Finnigan.
A possibly shell-shocked Cogdon came off at half-time when his replacement was Sunderland favourite Julio Arca.
