Justin Meram scored after nine seconds for Columbus Crew

Justin Meram scored a nine-second goal for Columbus Crew in the MLS Conference finals on Sunday evening.

The Ohio outfit were playing New York Red Bulls in the first-leg of their play-off fixture with the forward firing home after just nine seconds.

It comes a month after Mike Grella scored the fastest goal in MLS history for New York Red Bulls against Philadelphia Union after just seven seconds, beating Tim Cahill's previous fastest at eight seconds for the Red Bulls against Houston Dynamo in 2013.

Columbus Crew went on to win the game 2-0 courtesy of Kei Kamara's second-half strike.
