It was an historic night for Frank Lampard as New York City FC recognised his feat of scoring 300 career goals.
And it was a night the former Chelsea midfielder, who was presented with a special jersey and a ring, won't forget in a hurry as he added to his tally in a dramatic 3-2 victory for Patrick Vieira's side.
David Villa equalised for the hosts 11 minutes from time after Lloyd Sam had fired DC United ahead on 36 minutes at Yankee Stadium.
Lampard looked to have won it for NYCFC when he lashed home his first goal of the night in the 85th minute.
But there was drama in added-on time with substitute Lamar Neagle's header pulling it back to 2-2 in the 91st minute.
However, there was a Hollywood script with Lampard's name on it and he had the final word with a fine winner two minutes later to secure all three points.
