Gibraltar scored their first goal in World Cup qualification thanks to a stunning strike from Liam Walker against Greece.
Gibraltar threatened to cause an upset against Greece when the former Portsmouth midfielder scored a stunning equaliser against the run of play in their opening Group H clash, on Tuesday.
Midway through the first half, Walker cut in from the right hand flank, beating one man before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed finish into the top corner, with Greece goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis rooted to the spot and sparking wild scenes of celebration among the home players.
Former Fulham striker Kostas Mitroglou had given Greece the lead with a stunning strike of his own but Walker's goal cancelled it out sixteen minutes later, giving some hope of an unexpected upset.
However, a flurry of goals at the end of the first half saw Greece take a 4-1 lead into the break and, with Gibraltar's resistance broken, ran out comfortable winners in an uneventful second half.
