Dagenham & Redbridge have signed Portsmouth midfielder James Dunne on loan.

A handful of Sky Bet League 2 clubs are thought to have expressed an interest in borrowing Dunne, who has featured only once under new Pompey manager Paul Cook, but he will spend the next month with the Daggers.

The 26-year-old will be reunited with former Pompey team-mates Josh Passley and Nyron Nosworthy during his time at Victoria Road.

"He'll bring a competitive edge and energy to the group," Daggers boss Wayne Burnett told the club's official website.

"I'm absolutely delighted that we've managed to get James down for a month. He's someone I know very well."

Dunne's only appearance this season came as a substitute against Reading in the Capital One Cup in August.
