Juventus have announced the departure of Carlos Tevez to Boca Juniors for a transfer fee of £4.6million.
After months of speculation, the Serie A club officially confirmed Tevez, who had one year remaining on his contract, will be heading back to La Bombonera where he started his career as a teenager.
He joined Juve in 2013 after a seven-year spell in England with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City which yielded three Premier League titles.
A statement from Juventus read: "Tevez leaves after two magnificent seasons, returning to his homeland to sign for Boca Juniors.
"Juventus FC have agreed with Boca Juniors for the definite transfer of the registration rights of Tevez for a consideration of 6.5 million euro to be paid on December 15, 2016 in a sole installment."
Tevez was Juve's top scorer in the past two seasons and was twice voted player of the season by the Bianconeri fans.
He struck 20 league goals during the 2014-15 campaign and also set up seven more to help the club clinch their fourth successive Serie A title.
Tevez also won the Coppa Italia last season and played a prominent role in helping Juve reach the Champions League final for the first time since 2003.
The 31-year-old recently competed at the Copa America in Chile, where Argentina finished runners-up to the host nation.
Juve also announced they have reached an agreement with Boca Juniors to acquire Argentinian winger Guido Vadala on loan until June 2017 for €3.5m.
They will hold an option to make the deal permanent before the end of the 2016-17 campaign subject to a fee of €9.4m. The 18-year-old Vadala has made one appearance for Boca's first team.
Meanwhile, Sami Khedira and Simone Zaza both underwent medicals at Juventus on Monday.
Khedira signed a four-year deal after joining Juve on a free transfer from Real Madrid, while Zaza signed a five-year contract to complete a €18m transfer from Sassuolo.
