Roy Hodgson is the best manager in Switzerland’s history, according to Ramon Vega.

Ahead of Tuesday's European Qualifier between England and Switzerland at Wembley, the former Swiss international praised Hodgson for helping to set up an academy while in charge of the national side.

Hodgson led the country to the 1994 World Cup finals, the first tournament they qualified for in nearly 30 years.

And Vega, who now runs an investment firm in London, said he will always be remembered for the legacy he left.

Speaking at the Soccerex Global Convention in Manchester, he told Sky Sports News HQ: "He was the best manager Switzerland have ever had, historically.

"He put a structure in place with the Swiss federation with an academy and youngsters coming through it.
