Jose Mourinho could have the unenviable record of leading two different teams to their worst-ever Premier League starts in consecutive seasons this weekend.

Should Manchester United suffer defeat at Swansea City on Sunday, the club will have recorded its lowest-ever Premier League points total from 11 games.

Even a draw will mean United have equalled their lowest-ever total.

United are currently on 15 points from 10 matches, having won just four Premier League games this season.

Their previous lowest points total from 11 matches was 16 in the 2014/15 season under Louis van Gaal.

Chelsea & Man Utd lowest PL points totals after 11 games

Chelsea: Had just 13 points in 1992/93 & 1993/94, until last season, when they took 11 points from 11 games.

Man Utd: Lowest points total from 11 games is 16 points, set under Louis van Gaal in 2014/15. Currently have 15 points from 10 games, with a worse goal difference than in 2014/15.

Last season, Chelsea, under Mourinho's management, took just 11 points from their first 11 games - their lowest-ever haul at that stage of the competition.

However, Mourinho won't be the first manager to register the unwanted double.

In 2012/13, QPR, under manager Mark Hughes, took just four points from their first 11 Premier League games. Hughes then won just 10 points from Stoke's first 11 matches the following season - equalling the club's lowest mark from 2010/11.

Mick McCarthy and Danny Wilson have also been responsible for two clubs' record low points totals from 11 games - but they didn't do so in back-to-back seasons.

David Moyes' frustration was clear as his side gave up a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Crystal Palace

McCarthy won just five points from Sunderland's first 11 games in 2005/06, before taking nine points from Wolves' first 11 matches in 2010/11.

And Wilson recorded a nine-point haul from 11 matches with Barnsley in 1997/98 before his Sheffield Wednesday team took four points from their first 11 games of the 1999/00 season.

However, it should be noted, David Moyes' Sunderland will record a new lowest-ever points total from 11 games if they lose or draw against Bournemouth this weekend. A victory would only equal that total of five points won by McCarthy.
