Memphis Depay is on his way out of Old Trafford, but how does he compare to other Manchester United signings since Sir Alex Ferguson retired?

The Dutchman was signed for £31m in June 2015 by compatriot Louis van Gaal but has failed to repeat the title-winning form he showed for PSV.

He's one of 20 first-team players signed by United since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

Ferguson's immediate successor David Moyes brought Marouane Fellaini, Guillermo Varela and Juan Mata to the club, before Van Gaal splashed the cash on 13 other players during his two-season tenure.

As well as Depay, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Angel di Maria, Daley Blind, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Victor Valdes, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Sergio Romero and Anthony Martial were all signed by Van Gaal.

Current boss Jose Mourinho has since brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.
