As we preview the new Premier League season, we pick out five questions for Middlesbrough.
What have they done in the transfer market?
Aitor Karanka recently admitted that he could afford to spend £15m on one player but the demands of improving the squad mean that he has instead preferred to add bodies all over the field. There have been some high-profile additions as well.
A host of Spaniards have arrived with Victor Valdes, Antonio Barragan, Bernardo and Alvaro Negredo all signed, while former Ajax winger Viktor Fischer has talent. The most expensive buy so far is Marten de Roon, a 25-year-old Dutch midfielder from Serie A side Atalanta.
What does the manager say?
"The economic level here is incredible. We've got very high expectations but without experience to the maximum level, our main objective is to learn and to keep up. The Premier League will have a leap in quality because of the coaches who have come. It will be an absolute privilege."
What's the pundit verdict?
Paul Merson says: "I like the look of Middlesbrough and I think the Riverside Stadium will be rocking in the Premier League next year. I think they could have a similar season to what Bournemouth had after being promoted last year."
What's your prediction?
Newly-promoted Boro are 1000/1 with Sky Bet to lift the Premier League title and 13/2 for a top-half finish. But staying up will be the aim and they are 4/9 to just that and 7/4 shots to return to the Championship. Negredo is a 66/1 shot to be the Premier League top scorer.
