The Scottish Premiership game between St Johnstone and Hamilton will go ahead on Saturday afternoon following a pitch inspection.

Officials decided to take a precautionary look at the McDiarmid Park playing surface at 10am after temperatures dipped below freezing overnight.

No problems were found during the inspection and the match was given the green light.

Saints have not scored a goal since December 5 when they beat Ross County 3-2, suffering league defeats to Celtic and Motherwell before being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Kilmarnock last weekend.

But they will hope to find the net against Hamilton, who themselves are struggling having been dumped out of the cup in a 4-1 reverse to lowly Annan Athletic.

St Johnstone currently sit fourth in the league with 31 points from 20 games, while Hamilton are languishing in 10th with 23 points.
