Denmark women's World Cup qualifier against Sweden cancelled amid wage dispute

A women's World Cup qualifier between Denmark and Sweden has been cancelled after wage talks collapsed.
The Danish football federation (DBU) says it has informed FIFA and "expects now a disciplinary decision," including being excluded from World Cup qualifying.
DBU spokesman Kim Hallberg says it is "regrettable and totally grotesque" that players will stay away from the game which was scheduled for Friday in Goteborg.
The DBU says it had offered to increase the annual investment to the women's team by 2 million kroner (£239,000) to 4.6 million kroner (£551,265) to be used on higher salaries, among other things.
The Norwegian football federation became the first in the world to say their women's team will be paid the same as their men's side.
