Hungary coach Bernd Storck has included veteran goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly in his 23-man squad for Euro 2016.

Kiraly, who is back playing in his home country after a long career spent in England and Germany - notably with Crystal Palace, Hertha Berlin and 1860 Munich - is now in contention to become the tournament's oldest player at the age of 40.

He will surpass Germany's Lothar Matthaus, who appeared at Euro 2000 at the age of 39, if he dons the gloves for the Magyars, who last graced an international tournament in 1986, in France.

Storck has also included terrier-like red-headed midfielder Laszlo Kleinheisler, nicknamed 'the Hungarian Paul Scholes', while a solid defence could see Hungary prove difficult to beat in Group F, in which they face Austria, Iceland and Portugal.

Their strike force will be supplemented by the free-kicks of captain Balazs Dzsudzsak, while goalscoring will be the remit of centre-forward Adam Szalai, who plays for Bundesliga side Hannover 96.
