New Manchester City signing Kevin De Bruyne shone in Belgium's win over Cyprus

What does £54.5m get you these days? Well, a very talented footballer if Kevin De Bruyne's performance for Belgium against Cyprus on Sunday is anything to go by.

The 24-year-old recently put pen to paper on a six-year deal to join City, who shelled out the second highest transfer fee ever paid by a British club.

He was the clear standout player on show as Belgium kept up the pressure on Wales in European Qualifiers Group B with a late Eden Hazard winner, completing 37 of his 46 passes and having the most shots by any player on the pitch.

Stoke assistant manager Mark Bowen was Sky Sports' studio guest and he was suitably impressed by De Bruyne's showing.

He said: "He showed glimpses of the player he is. He was involved in most of the good things they did.

"One of the key things for me in the second half and with the goal, was that he was the player that won the ball back. It looks as though he could develop into Belgium's main man."
