Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Real Madrid unless the money is right, while a new deal for Gareth Bale is on the cards , according to Guillem Balague.

Ronaldo, whose contract expires in 2018, has been repeatedly linked with a move from the Bernabeu, with PSG and Manchester United touted as potential destinations.

Balague claims Real have tried all season to find a buyer for the Portugese star - but believes he will stay put unless an offer meets the requirements of all parties.

"Ronaldo and Real Madrid tried to part ways and have found it very difficult," Balague told La Liga Podcast

"Unless someone comes with the money for both parties, Ronaldo is there to stay. Which means the likes of Robert Lewandowski will say he is not coming."

Ronaldo is expected to be fit to face Manchester City in Wednesday's Champions League decider after a lay-off with a thigh injury but team-mate Bale has thrived in recent weeks.

The Wales international has scoring 19 goals in 20 starts as Real Madrid push for the La Liga title and Champions League glory and Balague revealed conversations over an extended deal have commenced.

"Gareth Bale was told next season he would be the focal point of Real Madrid. When he has been given the opportunity, he has embraced it fully and has enjoyed himself," Balague said.

Ronaldo is picked to play in and around the box so there is more work to do for the others and more work to do for Bale.

"Ronaldo has been limiting his influence on the game. Ronaldo is picked to play in and around the box so there is more work to do for the others and more work to do for Bale.

"But Bale is having the best goalscoring moment of his career at Real Madrid and is two away from his record at Spurs. The pessimistic view Bale had last season of his future is changing and that is why conversations have started over a new deal."

Terry Gibson believes Bale would be mad to give up the chance to play for Real Madrid as anywhere else would be a backward step in his career.

"Ever since he joined the club, there has been talk of him coming back to the Premier League, but there is nowhere bigger than Real Madrid for Gareth Bale to be at," Gibson said.

"They are one of the biggest clubs in world football. What a stage he has to play football alongside some of the best players in the world.

"Why would he want to leave? He's not going to get more money anywhere else. It would be a step down if he joined another club."
