Paul Hartley has been sacked as Dundee manager with only five matches left in the season.
Hartley has been in charge at Dens Park since February 2014 but his side is one off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table and the club's board has decided to act.
He was named Premiership manager of the month after an unbeaten February, but the 2-0 defeat at home to Hamilton on Saturday was their seventh successive reverse.
They sit five points above bottom side Inverness but only five points adrift of Kilmarnock in seventh, with plenty to play for as they look to avoid relegation.
The side in 11th place faces a play-off against the second placed side in the Championship.
Managing director John Nelms said, "I want to thank Paul for his time with the club. Unfortunately, the business we are in, sometimes change is necessary to achieve the goals we have set.
"I think somebody in the near future is going to get a good hard working manager."
