They now need a win against group leaders Germany to remain in touch with the top two and also third-placed Republic of Ireland, who are a point ahead.

It has been 16 years since Scotland last beat Die Mannschaft - a 1-0 victory in Bremen in April 1999 - but they only lost 2-1 in Dortmund last September after a battling display.

Joachim Low's side moved to the top of the group with a 3-1 win over Poland on Friday and would seal automatic qualification with victory against Scotland and a defeat for Republic of Ireland against Georgia.

Betting

Sky Bet make Scotland 11/2 shots to stun Germany (4/9) and keep their hopes of reaching the Euro 2016 finals alive.

Both sides have scored in each of their last three meetings and it's 11/1 for Scotland to win or 9/4 for the world champions to get the three points with both teams scoring. Germany won 2-1 when the sides last met and it's 7/1 for a repeat of that scoreline.
