Liverpool Ladies sign Scotland international Caroline Weir from Bristol Academy

Liverpool Ladies have signed Scotland international Caroline Weir from Bristol Academy.

The 20-year-old is a highly-rated midfielder with an eye for goal who only moved to the West Country club during the 2015 mid-season break.

Weir has also previously played for Arsenal Ladies and helped them win the FA Women's Cup in 2014 as the Gunners beat Everton Ladies 2-0 in the final at stadium:mk.

"Liverpool Ladies are a really ambitious club and I am confident that we can win more trophies over the next few seasons," she told the club's official website.

"It is a great move for me. There are so many talented players here and I am really looking forward to playing alongside them in order to develop my game."

Liverpool Ladies manager Scott Rogers was also delighted the deal had been completed.

"Caroline is an exciting, young player who has huge potential," he said.
